This is the first car I repainted. I did the work at home using Nason single-stage red mixed to factory code. I also reupholstered the whole thing from scratch including front and rear seats, door cards, and even my daughter's booster seat. I bought the car from a friend's brother sight-unseen. Flew out to Huntington Beach, CA to pick it and drove it back to Chicago in 36 hours. Quite the adventure.
Being a SoCal and previously an Arizona car, it had no real rust but the original paint was chalky, it had peeling clear coat on the front clip where it had been repaired once, and the black all-vinyl seat upholstery was rock-hard throughout and cracked on the driver's side. Picked up the car in summer 2005, had it all back together and on the road some time in 2008, and ended up selling it back to the guy I bought it from.
